APPLICATIONS for P-PVC

Cap Linings, Sealants and Crown Corks:

Cap linings & sealants PVC is frequently used to ensure that the metallic lids of glass bottles and containers stay tight. Containers for treated foodstuffs can be pasteurized or sterilized, thanks to the excellent thermal properties of PVC closures.
PVC is also valued for its chemical resistance and its organoleptic properties, which are indispensable for this type of product.

A closure normally exists of a lining to protect the metal from the foodstuff and vice versa, and a gasket to provide a seal between the closure and the container.
Besides rheology considerations, the PVC resin and formulation components have to comply with national and international standards for food Contact products.

Recommended resins for cap linings is Geon 174 to assure a good adhesion between the lining and the gasket. For sealants, we have Geon 121A and Geon E32 with K-value 78. For lower processing temperatures Geon 124A, and Geon 120x400 are recommended.
